Augustusburg’s Music Summer

The hotspot for classical music enthusiasts lies idyllically and majestically just outside Chemnitz. Whether it’s surprising short concerts, gripping symphony performances, or evocative late-night concerts – for two months, over 120 top-class performers will take over the “Crown of the Ore Mountains.” Leading the way is the Junge Philharmonie Augustusburg: 52 highly talented musicians from across Germany will perform Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 & 9 “From the New World” at the opening and closing concerts.

Alongside all events, the 360° Sound World in St. Petri Church is emerging as a construction project of European significance. 4,200 organ pipes distributed across six locations within a single church space – the organ has never been experienced like this before. Follow the creation of this acoustically unique cultural monument!
