An intergenerational storytelling project in Manchester and Chemnitz

The English author Julia Davis writes about her family's relationship with Chemnitz. They had to leave the city in the 1930s. In writing workshops, she made the circumstances accessible to older and younger people. By telling and inventing stories, she brought time and people together. The participants experienced Chemnitz with pen, paper and new media. They came from different countries. Translation apps helped the participants to create their own collages and stories in their native languages. Poems and short stories were created. Images and sounds created a rich narrative world that spans generations.
