When you switch on flight mode on your mobile phone, it can fly. But most of the time it doesn't want to, because it's so nice and warm in your pocket. Children see the world differently than adults, and it's time to learn from them, according to the people at Makerhub Augustusburg. Since 2019, the Lehngericht, the oldest building in the town, has been home to a digital workshop where people think outside the box, combining craft techniques with digital technologies to create all kinds of surprising things in the workshops. In 2025, the focus was on children, based on the motto ‘Just let them do it’. They were allowed to experiment – with food or unicorns or whatever else they could find.

When? 28 May to 10 June 2025
