The Mittweida Sukkot

Art + Life at the Feast of Tabernacles

Mittweida University of Applied Sciences has a special history: Jews were still able to study there up to 1938 during the National Socialist era. This is an occassion  for Jewish artists, musicians, writers and intellectuals of the »third generation« to meet here and discuss their own views and the prospects of respectful coexistence in a soci- ety that is becoming ever more divided. The »third generation« will visit the city for the pilgrimage festival of Sukkot and establish a temporary kibbutz. An artistically designed »sukkah« (a hut covered with branches) will be set up at the market and a rich cultural programme will be developed in collaboration with local people.

When? From 5 October 2025 to 12 October 2025

Where? Mittweida, Mittweida Market; Mittweida Municipal Library; Mittweida Municipal Leisure Centre; various other locations in Mittweida, to be announced
