Square stories - square visions - square design

An architectural intervention for a more sustainable city

Chemnitz is a city that has been generously designed. How was it designed so that people enjoy spending time there and at the same time the city is prepared for climate change? People with a historical connection to the place reported on how they perceive the squares. Together with planners and architects, they spent two days developing new visions for squares and places. The results were presented with open-air furniture, geodomes, coloured chalk and all kinds of other things. At the same time, students from all over Europe developed new ideas for the unused space around the Karl Marx Monument. All the works were presented to the public.
