Düsseldorf-based artist Corina Gertz photographs women around the world in unusual traditional costumes and costumes from behind. in 2023, she travelled to the Ore Mountains and for the first time photographed men, representatives of various mountain brotherhoods in richly decorated, traditional costumes.

The PURPLE PATH artworks in Amtsberg, Ehrenfriedersorf, Thalheim and Zwönitz become visible and audible in an immersive spatial sound installation. Animated images on a curved monitor are accompanied by specially composed sounds via 16 loudspeakers. Visit the installation on special occasions in the Buntspeicher and until 30 April 2025 at the Greifenstein Region Tourist Information Office.

The guided hike starts at 10.30 a.m. at Wildeck Castle in Zschopau and leads to Dittersdorfer Höhe, where the artwork "Zwei in ein ander Gewobene" by Olaf Holzapfel can be viewed. After a refreshing break, the route continues with the Amtsberg Hiking Club to Zschopau to the artwork "Fließgleichgewicht" by Michael Sailstorfer. The day ends with musical entertainment, food and drinks. There are exciting activities for children.

In 1991, the American composer and visual artist John Cage composed the Museumcircle , a unique exhibition format that can currently be marvelled at in the Museum of Industry. Over 100 objects from 52 museums and exhibition spaces from Chemnitz and the region were selected at random and arranged at random. Between nutcrackers, motorbikes and expressionist art, a space is created for free association about the cultural heritage of the region.

Local artist Ulrich Reimkasten learnt the basics of textile design in Lichtenstein. After 50 years, the artist and large-format textile works are returning. In an expansive installation and with a supplementary cabinet exhibition, his origins and life's work are linked by means of more than 60 exhibits. On view until 29 June 2025.

The sculpture created in 2006 by German artist Rebecca Horn (* 1944; † 2024) has already travelled through many churches. As if from the centre of the earth, it rises up to the golden blue of the firmament. If you look into the rotating mirrors at the bottom, your gaze falls endlessly into the depths of a shaft. If you look upwards, you will experience swirls of light rising upwards.
