HAT FESTIVAL

Anyone who plays music, juggles or performs acrobatics in the pedestrian zones of this world hopes their audience will make a voluntary contribution in a hat going round. Hence the name of the festival. For three days, street artists from twelve nations will transform the streets and squares of Chemnitz city centre into an open-air stage filled with live music, clowning, circus acts, jug- gling, fire shows, walk acts, art and street food. If you’re stopping by, feel free to wear a hat yourself – and to tip it to friends and guests out of respect for one another.
