Planting Festival: Awakening

The Chemnitz 2025 main project Living Neighbourhood kicked off the spring with the planting festival on the theme of "New Beginnings". From 30 March to 6 April 2025, numerous apple trees were once again planted, cared for and celebrated in Chemnitz and the region. The planting festival promotes the communal design of the respective living environment.

It began this year with a European flavour: under the title "Rise like an apple tree. An ESC Lookalike", Chemnitz residents presented musical highlights from the history of the Eurovision Song Contest in their own productions at the Chemnitz Weltecho.
