What would a democratic cultural institution look like if it was not only financed by public funds, but also co-designed through participation? What feedback would citizens give if they could intervene in day-to-day business with their wishes, visions and questions?

The Garage Campus, a new cultural centre for Chemnitz, has been created from a former tram depot. The aim of the Garage Campus is to be a meeting place for everyone. But who are these "everyone" and what do they want? That's what Haltestelle Kultur wants to find out. On the grounds of the Garage Campus and at other locations in the city, a "stop" will invite visitors to add their two cents.

The stop will become a symbolic link between the Garage Campus and the urban community. a video installation reports on the visions and practices of the cultural institution and also allows the initiators and operators of the Garage Campus to have their say. Through interactive formats and participatory activations, it collects feedback from the Chemnitz public - and thus makes the invisible structures behind the new cultural location visible.
