Fischelant
An interactive art installation by Cosima Terrasse on creativity and community spirit in the garage complex

A Fischelant was found in an abandoned garage on Theaterstraße. How did it get there? Was it man-made? If so, by whom, when, and for what purpose? Local experts get to the bottom of this question in a film. They include: an archaeologist, a historian of technology, an engineer, a car mechanic, an art restorer, a veterinarian, the chairman of a garage association, and a banker. If it turns out to be what the team thinks it is, Chemnitz – and beyond – has a golden future in store. Unravel the secret of the Fischelant for yourself when you visit this on-site interactive installation.
Please note that the visit to the Fischelant takes 50 minutes and therefore requires an appointment booking. At the moment, only dates for May and June are available. The dates up to October 2025 will be published gradually.
