The AfD: a party that is categorised by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution as right-wing extremist in parts and at the same time receives an influx of voters.
Why do people vote for AfD? What makes them believe that the AfD's programme will lead them to a better future?
And above all: How can the people who feel addressed by it be reached again?

There is an urgent need to talk to them, not just about them. Sally Lisa Starken does just that - and listens. She finds out what the life stories of these people look like and asks where exactly the democratic forces have lost touch.

Only if we talk to each other again, take something away from these encounters and fewer people feel left behind and unseen by politics, can we still save our democracy. The firewall must be permeable from one side so that people can find their way back to democracy.
