The Unlock Book Fair started in Barcelona in 2016 and is a book fair for small, self-supporting publishers of books and magazines. It offers visitors the extraordinary opportunity to discover publications from the fields of graffiti, street art, urban art and skateboarding. The Unlock Book Fair offers a physical alternative to the usual online purchase of current publications from the subculture.
The book fair will set up its book (shelves) from 28 - 31 August as part of the HALLENKUNST 2025 exhibition in the Markthalle in Chemnitz and will be extended to four days. The thematic scope of the Unlock Book Fair in Chemnitz goes beyond graffiti and also includes urbex, hobo culture, historical murals, street photography and street art.
The public programme of the Unlock Book Fair Chemnitz also offers exclusive insights into the subculture. It includes presentations of books and rare magazines, talks by world-leading artists and experts, screenings of long-lost films and interesting readings. The programme will be published in advance at www.hallenkunst.de.
