Exhibition "The record - myth and cult! From shellac, vinyl and Amiga"

Ehrenfriedersdorf is part of the Capital of Culture Region Chemnitz 2025 and is participating with the project "Bergklang und Vinylzauber". Inspired by the town's rich history, in which a record factory flourished under the management of August Kybarth between the 1920s and 1950s, vinyl records will be at the centre of the 2025 cultural celebrations.

After the special exhibition "70 years of AMIGA" was presented with great success in the Museum Schloss Bernburg and subsequently in Parchim, Halle and Riesa, the museum of the Zinngrube visitor mine in Ehrenfriedersdorf is now awaiting a very entertaining musical journey through time, which was developed and designed by the Bernburg curator Torsten Sielmon.

Facts and pictures about AMIGA history, banners with personal greetings from singers and musicians such as Angelika Mann, Uwe Hassbecker from Silly and Frank Schöbel, a large wall of hits, personal loans, including Fred Frohberg's legendary stage case from the 1950s, Julia Axen's AMIGA cake box and awards - above all the "Golden Amiga" - can be seen in the exhibition.

Visitors to the exhibition will of course also gain historical insights into the Kybarth factory, which still stands in Ehrenfriedersdorf on Annaberger Straße today.
The AMIGA exhibition is complemented by artistic works and paintings on the subject of vinyl records by Jorn Michael and Miachael Goller, among others.
Further loans from Ehrenfriedersdorf residents and Kybarth's descendants, as well as from the Chumotov Regional Museum (CZ) complete the exhibition.
