The word "garage" comes from the French and means "to keep something safe". Chemnitz has a particularly high density of garages - does this indicate a particularly high need for security? And if so, what exactly is being secured behind the wooden gates and corrugated metal walls?

Director Tanja Krone knocks on the doors of garage owners, police headquarters, security companies, places of worship and the people with whom she made this city unsafe 30 years ago. She asks: How can we find inner security in uncertain times? The conversations become a music and theatre performance. The many voices become songs. The result is a negotiation about security in the old and new Chemnitz - the first security conference in the former East.
