Kick-off event "Regional culture at the TIETZ"
Culture meets space travel - an evening full of discoveries on 8 July in Chemnitz
On 8 July 2025, the new event series "Regional Culture at the TIETZ" will be launched at the TIETZ in Chemnitz. From 6 p.m., interested parties are cordially invited to experience an evening full of inspiration, encounters and future perspectives in the event hall at Moritzstraße 20.
The series introduces creative players from the Capital of Culture Region Chemnitz 2025 - from committed associations to solo artists. The kick-off event marks the beginning of an exciting cultural format that regularly brings regional diversity to the stage.
The highlight of the evening is the multimedia lecture "Space adventure - for all of us?" by space historian Tasillo Römisch. The founder of the Mittweida Space Museum, a long-standing collector and expert on international space history, will provide fascinating insights into the future of space tourism. With original space technology you can touch, exciting stories and critical questions, he brings space closer in an entertaining way - and shows how far science fiction has already become reality today.
The evening will be accompanied musically by the jazz duo Än Tiede & Elias Störr from the Capital of Culture region. With jazzy, spherical and slightly pop sounds, the two musicians create a special atmosphere that is perfectly attuned to the theme of space travel and the future - a soundtrack for dreaming and reflection.
In addition to the event, the "Regional Showcase" in the TIETZ invites visitors to take a tour of the Capital of Culture region. The exhibition right next to the Petrified Forest offers exciting insights into the 38 municipalities of the region on steles, banners, signposts and a monitor.
Admission from 17:30, start at 18:00.
