To prepare for the parade, all kinds of decorations have to be made and, of course, the music has to be prepared. To this end, "Making it Together" workshops will be offered from 9 - 13 August 2025. In these workshops at inpeos e.V. , music will be made, cardboard costumes crafted and giant sculptures (flowers, birds and suns) made from willow rods and tissue paper are build. All workshops take place at inpeos e.V., Müllerstraße 15. Everything made can be taken home after the parade on 16 August!
Programme:
Sat. 09.08, 10:00 - 13:00 For families: Craft workshop
Make wearable suns and costume parts (from cardboard and paint with colour) with free soup after the workshop between 13:00 and 14:30
Sat. 09.08, 14:30 - 18:00 For adults: Craft workshop
Make and decorate costume and giant sculptures! You are welcome to take part in both workshops (Sat & Sun) or just one.
Sun. 10.08, 11:00 - 13:30 For adults: Craft workshop

Mon 11 Aug, 18:00 - 19:30 For everyone: Community Choir Chemnitz
Open singing with simple songs in different languages (45 minutes), plus an additional craft activity for the parade (45 minutes). No previous musical knowledge is required!
Tue 12 Aug, 19:00 - 20:30 For everyone: Streetband Sonnenberg
Open workshop with drums & wind instruments. We make music and prepare our outfit for our parade! No matter whether you have previous musical knowledge or not, join in!
Wed 13.08., 18:00 - 20:00 For everyone: Costume making
The last opportunity to craft, paint and make your costume for the parade on Saturday.
The parade and the festival as part of HANG ZUR KULTUR will then take place on 16 August on Lessingplatz.
