The European Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO) opens the Silbermann-Tage 2025! Under the direction of Enrico Onofri, the orchestra will perform a programme of Baroque composers from Purcell to Rameau as "Artist in Residence" in the Chemnitz Lokschuppen, which will be lively, dancing and light-hearted.

The EUBO has been bringing together the best young early music talents from European music academies for 40 years. In annual auditions, the orchestra is re-cast in order to make music together - across borders and as a cultural ambassador for Europe. The orchestra works with renowned conductors and soloists, including today in Chemnitz, where Enrico Onofri, a specialist in historical performance practice, is on the podium.

For the opening, the Silbermann Days will be held for the first time in a fascinating industrial monument, the engine shed of the Chemnitz-Hilbersdorf Railway Museum. It is located on the former lifeline of the region - the Dresden-Chemnitz-Plauen railway line. This is where Saxon industrial history meets baroque splendour. This is where the Silbermann Days build a bridge to the Capital of Culture Chemnitz by musically picking up on the Capital of Culture motto "C the Unseen". It will be a rousing start to the festival that celebrates the sound of Europe!

Works by Henry Purcell, Charles Avison, Georg Philipp Telemann, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jean-Philippe Rameau
