MADE IN - Future Legacies presents installations, objects, films and documentation from workshops, residencies and field research on topics such as craft heritage, hybrid environmental practices, innovation with tradition and knowledge transfer. The German partner institutions - the Museum of Decorative Arts of the Dresden State Art Collections and the Faculty of Applied Arts Schneeberg of the West Saxon University of Applied Sciences Zwickau - are bringing the exhibition from its first stop in Ljubljana (Slovenia) to the Ore Mountains.

The host is KulturWerk Schneeberg e.V., which, as part of the MBA programme of the Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and a partner in the Creative Ore Mountains network, is building a bridge between the international perspectives of the MADE IN platform and the regional design and craft scene. This exchange becomes tangible at the Midissage.

Saxon stakeholders from the MADE IN project and representatives of the crafts and creative industries in the Ore Mountains will come together in an interdisciplinary network meeting. In open exchange formats, they present their work, materials and approaches, get to know each other through making and experimenting together and enter into dialogue about craft and design processes.

A lively atmosphere of discovery and participation is created in the centre of the exhibition. Visitors can not only experience the works on display, but also get to know other participants in the European MADE IN programme. With discussions, small demonstrations and a musical finale, cultural heritage can be experienced as something unifying - open, present and communal.
