Tango is not created through steps, tango is created through music and being together, through feeling together. This workshop series is aimed at tango dancers who already attend milongas (or would like to start) but still feel unsure about close dance contact or how to move to the music. Instead of learning new step sequences, the focus is on what really counts on the social dance floor: better contact and presence with your partner.
Basic musical understanding, even with simple movements.

This class is open to all levels - ideal for anyone who wants to feel more confident, connected and musical while dancing. Couples of all genders and dancers with double roles are welcome.

Contents of the workshops:

Class 1 - Contact & Presence | 1.00 pm - 2.15 pm
Tango is a conversation, and contact is its language.
We will explore how both partners shape the embrace - and how a good connection gives you more freedom of movement. The aim here is to learn simple, practical tools for a safe, close embrace in which both roles can relax and enjoy the dance.

Class 2 - Musicality with D'Arienzo & Troilo | 14.45-16.00
This part concentrates on the rhythmic side of tango music. Clear beats from D'Arienzo and rich rhythm from Troilo will be felt. With just a few elements, you will explore how to change the tempo and play with timing - without stress or excessive demands.

Class 3 - Musicality with Di Sarli & Pugliese | 16.30-17.45
Now we dive into melody and emotion.
Di Sarli's elegant flow and Pugliese's powerful drama will guide our movement. We explore how to change dynamics and listen for shifts in energy - even with very simple steps.

By the end of the series, participants will be able to

  • feel confident in close dance contact.
  • understand the importance of contact and presence with their partner.
  • understand that musicality does not require complicated figures and
  • use (simple) tools that help to enjoy social dance more.
