Keynote speeches at the launch of the Chemnitz Garage School

To kick off the international Chemnitz Garage School, three public keynote speeches will be given by experts from various fields on the topics of sustainability and repair.

The international summer course starts with lectures from Germany, the Netherlands and Japan. Experts from the fields of architecture, the environment, heritage conservation, activism and science will come together to rethink garages as spaces of lived sustainability, repair and community. From GDR garage culture to the global repair movement - the event opens up new perspectives on collective knowledge, the reappropriation of urban spaces and the cultural significance of supposedly everyday infrastructures.
