For more than 30 years, the "Josiger Brass" ensemble has stood for brass music at the highest level. Founded in 1991 as a quintet and evolving from a quartet that had already existed since 1985, Josiger Brass is an established chamber music brass ensemble from the Thum/Erzgeb. e. V. youth brass orchestra association.
Josiger Brass offers an unmistakable sound that is carried by trumpets, trombone, tuba and French horn. With a diverse repertoire ranging from baroque pieces to classical works and modern compositions, the ensemble takes its audience on a musical journey through different eras and genres. Josiger Brass concerts showcase the full range and expressiveness of brass music. Whether festive church concerts, open-air events or chamber music evenings - the ensemble knows how to impressively present the versatility and tonal beauty of brass music. The flexibility of the musicians also allows them to dynamically adapt the repertoire to different concerts and occasions.
The members of the ensemble come from the Jugendblasorchester der Stadt Thum/Erzgeb. e. V. association and have established themselves as a well-rehearsed team through years of experience in the highest class of amateur brass music, through numerous performances and also through their commitment to the work of the association. With precise interplay and great passion, Josiger Brass conveys the multifaceted nature of brass music at every performance.
