Info event on microprojects for 2026

2026 is the so-called "bridge year" between the activities of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and what will grow out of it in Chemnitz and the Capital of Culture region in the future. There is an opportunity to contribute your own ideas and projects to help shape this bridge year. At an event on 11 February 2026 in the Hartmannfabrik, we will provide information about various open calls for micro-projects.

Associations, initiatives and individuals from Chemnitz and the 38 municipalities in the Capital of Culture region can apply with their ideas for financial support of up to 2,500 euros. We are looking for projects that relate to the major themes of the Capital of Culture year: the #3000Garages, the Living Neighbourhood, intergenerational exchange, the PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trailand "Make!", creative makers. The aim is to open up places with new ideas, facilitate encounters with local or European players, encourage creative participation and make hidden things visible.

The application modalities for the microprojects will be published on 11 February 2026 at 6 pm with an information evening in the Hartmannfabrik and on all channels of Chemnitz 2025 . On Wednesday, 11 March, there will be another information evening about the microprojects at the Hartmannfabrik, where specific questions about the submissions will also be answered.
