22.-24. August, 29.-31. August, 5.-7. September
At the centre of ibug's activities is the abandoned and forgotten. Using urban art, it is to be revitalised, transformed and thus developed into a field of experimentation for possible perspectives on the future. The focus is on the relics of Saxon industrial culture and on highlighting the connections to history, culture and architecture. Contact with the past is established on site through research and dialogue with contemporary witnesses, schools, civil society, politics and business as well as local potentials and stakeholders.
The work of ibug e.V. consists of making derelict industrial monuments visible and tangible to a diverse audience once a year. To this end, a large number of international artists are invited to engage in an artistic dialogue on site. The results will be presented in the form of an exhibition.
ibug 2025 on the site of the former Stadtpark hospital in Chemnitz
Originally built as the Presto-Werke and later used by Auto-Union AG as its headquarters, the site was converted into a hospital after the Second World War. The so-called "Stadtpark Hospital" provided medical care for Chemnitz and the region for over five decades. Since its closure in 1997, the complex has stood empty. Now it is undergoing a creative revitalisation.
