How does "The East" remember?

More than 30 years after reunification, the East German reunification period is still the subject of intense debate. What is remembered and what needs to be remembered is constantly changing - because more and more diverse voices can be heard today. Memories are often not clear stories, but images, feelings and personal experiences.

In the fishbowl discussion - a dynamic circle of chairs format - all guests are invited to join in the discussion. The focus is on questions such as: How do personal experiences change the view of the past? How is history processed artistically? How do archives capture memories? The focus is not on historical details, but on subjective impressions and interpretations of this period. Over the course of the evening, a variety of voices will produce new, important images that will shape our shared memories.
