What would it be like if we didn't romanticise love and everything that goes with it, but politicised it?
What happens when young artists and German studies students go on a critical search for traces back to the Middle Ages with a view to today?
In cooperation with Chemnitz University of Technology and the queer-feminist artists' collective Out of Order, an exhibition is being created that shows that
Love was never apolitical
And it was never just straight.
In the summer semester of 2025
German studies students explored medieval concepts of love, gender and sexuality and read the respective texts from a queer, anti-discrimination and power-critical perspective. The young artists from Out of Order artistically reinterpret this content through paintings, sculptures, video collages, sound and light installations.

For everyone who wants to start talking about love as a social force, as a place of power, resistance and change!
