Dance connects. The Generation team of the Capital of Culture initiated this project, which combines contemporary and urban dance as well as improvisation and brings together older and younger people. Amateurs and professionals come together in a highly professional environment. In addition to weekly training sessions, various performances are organised where the unseen older dancers in particular can show off their skills.

So that those on the waiting list can also take part and anyone who wants to try it out or enjoy moving to music every week, there is now this free and outdoor event.

The focus of Dancing Neighbours is on intercultural exchange through non-verbal dialogue, which unfolds through shared movement, creative expression and energy. Dance classes for older participants take place regularly, supplemented by intensive workshops and collaboration with younger participants.

Dancing only takes place outside in dry weather, in case of rain it is cancelled! No previous experience necessary. Everyone is welcome! If youhave any questions, please contact Alexandra.Takats@chemnitz2025.de .
