The whole of Chemnitz will become a stage when the international festival for contemporary dance moves the city and encourages participation from 18 to 29 June 2025. Renowned companies from all over the world will be guests to inspire audiences beyond the classical stages. They conquer the public space with guest performances, workshops and performances. The TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ (dance | modern | dance) festival sets the European Capital of Culture in motion. The highlight of this year's festival is Odyssey in C, a dance journey of discovery across Chemnitz. Inspired by James Joyce's novel of the century, Ulysses, Ballett Chemnitz is collaborating with international dance artists to create various choreographies at 18 locations throughout the city. In the spirit of the Chemnitz Capital of Culture idea C the Unseen, the festival creates unusual encounters in overlooked places in the city.
