An approx. 2-hour workshop with the Chemnitz musician Huy Tien Dương on the Vietnamese folkloric instrument Đàn Bầu.
- What is the Đàn Bầu?
- How is the Đàn Bầu constructed?
- How is the Đàn Bầu played?
Huy Tien Dương came to the former GDR in the 1970s as a Vietnamese apprentice. Since then, he has been active in many different areas - on the machine, in catering, in kung fu and as a musician. For the feature film Lonig & Havendel, he improvised on the Vietnamese folkloric one-string instrument Đàn Bầu and thus significantly shaped the special sound design of the film. He will now offer a workshop on this instrument in Chemnitz.
This will be followed by a follow-up workshop on "Sound design & film music with simple means" by musician Florian Illing. The workshop will be held in German.
The venue for the meeting is a separate room in the "Asia Imbiss" on Bernsdorfer Straße 47 in Chemnitz. The snack bar will remain open during the event.
