Woyzeck - the one-dimensional man
Guest performance by Laughing Beasts
Social porn from the age of late capitalism. A gaudy crazy comedy based on Georg Büchner.
Who is Woyzeck? Woyzeck is a fragment, Woyzeck is a one-dimensional human being.
We are all (a little bit) Woyzeck.
Georg Büchner's cult drama about a "crime of passion" - but in a completely different way.
The revolutionary Georg Büchner wrote Woyzeck about the social background that drives a person to commit a seemingly "personal" act of murder.
In the remix of Laughing Beasts, Woyzeck is victimised to the rhythm of Britney. Instead of eating peas, he doesn't sleep. Instead of shaving the captain's face, he shaves his arse. Because above all, it all has to be fun! Everything!
Warning: The production uses socially dangerous words such as "reification" - with references to authors of so-called critical theory such as H. Marcuse, W. Benjamin and, of course, Teddy and Max. However, any subversion is of course only meant as a joke.
