"Radiant Futures" brings together seven video works that sketch out speculative visions of a post-human age. Between AI-generated worlds, fluid identities and hybrid life forms, the artists negotiate new alliances between humans, nature and technology. Inspired by the decentrally organised nervous system of the octopus, real and fictitious microorganisms and logics shaped by social media, scenarios are created in which linear thinking is replaced by complexity. The works reflect a world in flux, in which reality dissolves and recomposes itself - between surface and depth, body and data, memory and simulation. Video serves as a tool of the imagination: for futures that are as tantalising as they are disturbing.

For the Capital of Culture year Chemnitz 2025, the socio-cultural centre Subbotnik is staging various events in the adjacent open space on Vettersstraße. Videocity is cooperating with the association for an open-air evening with video art and live music.

Bertolt Meyer (Berlin/Chemnitz) is a DJ, producer and self-confessed modular synthesiser enthusiast who was born without his left forearm. Instead of letting this restrict his creative activities, he hacked his prosthetic hand to make electronic music. The queer musician and psychology professor embodies a posthuman perspective in which body and technology merge.
