Young and old may come together and realise that everyone who feels at home here, whether they were born here or not, belongs to Germany. Plurality is an established fact, indeed it has always been, and comprehensive social participation for all is therefore a necessity! The fact that this is currently being put to the test again and voices are being raised from both the right and the left in favour of nationalist and radical-nationalist policies should be smiled away by celebratory forms of cheerful diversity. But no matter how much one:m loses their laughter, the realities of the pluralistic society in which we live must be defended and honoured, because they are homes!
