Chemnitz, Technical University

As the young visitors are among the best mathematical talents in their countries, they will show their individual creativity in solving mathematical problems in an individual competition and demonstrate their team spirit in a team competition. However, they and the people accompanying them will not only bring something to the Capital of Culture with the cultural asset of maths, but will also use their stay to get to know the city and the Ore Mountains region with its culture, economy and science.

Maths Olympiads are one of the familiar activities in Chemnitz. The days in May 2019, when the national round of the 58th Mathematical Olympiad took place here(www.mo2019.de), are unforgettable as the secret "capital of mathematics". Every year, hundreds of pupils compete for points and placings in regional and state rounds in Chemnitz. However, the international atmosphere in such a competition will be new for Chemnitz. After 2014 in Dresden, this high-calibre competition will be held in Germany for only the second time. Chemnitz University of Technology is the organiser and host of the competition (see programme on the website) and is supported by "Friends and Sponsors". The local organisers from the Faculty of Mathematics at TU Chemnitz, the city administration of the city of Chemnitz, the State Office for Schools and Education and the Johannes Kepler Gymnasium are looking forward to the event!
