Colourful Bricks for Accessibility
A day full of activities for accessible, diverse togetherness

People with disabilities face barriers every single day. Every year on 5 May, disabled people from all over Europe celebrate the European Independent Living Day, an opportu- nity to discuss the hardships and triumphs of togetherness. On this day in 2025, we’ll build functional wheelchair ramps using colourful building blocks in a public event at Schlossteichinsel. The bricks are donations from Chemnitz residents. Everyone will work together under the guidance of experts.
