PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail

The PURPLE PATH art and sculpture trail combines contemporary works of art with local stories, scenic features and cultural highlights. Along the open-air gallery in the 38 towns and municipalities of the Capital of Culture Region, visitors are invited to bring art into dialogue with their surroundings and their history.

Excursions to Chemnitz and the region

The Capital of Culture Year 2025 will bring movement to the entire region: exhibitions, concerts, performances and hands-on formats will celebrate, create and tell stories at changing locations. Suggested routes lead to selected locations of the Capital of Culture year - through the city and countryside, past art in public spaces, historical sites and quiet moments in nature.

Tourism in the Ore Mountains

Idyllic landscapes, historic places and over 850 years of mining history characterise the Ore Mountains along the German-Czech border. The Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří mining region has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2019. The region delights active holidaymakers, nature lovers and creative tourists with its traditional craftsmanship.
