Where can I find information?

In the Hartmannfabrik (Fabrikstr. 11, Chemnitz), the Chemnitz 2025 visitor centre, you will find up-to-date information material about the European Capital of Culture and the programme. The building is located on the Chemnitz river not far from the castle pond.

The Tourist Information Centre (Markt 1, Chemnitz), located directly in Chemnitz Town Hall, offers you everything you need to know about the city's tourist attractions.

City tours

From the "Night Watchman Evening Tour" to the city tour and the "Pro Beer Tour" - Chemnitz offers city tours for every taste. You can discover and book them at chemnitz.travel or directly at the tourist information centre on the market square.

Free Walking Tours

See a foreign city through the eyes of a local. The Free Walking Tours in Chemnitz follow this principle: locals take visitors on a relaxed tour of the city. Every Saturday at 10:30 (in German) and at 11:00 (in English) at the Hartmannfabrik.

Bike hire

Chemnitzer Stadtfahrrad offers bike hire. For €2.50 per day and bike, you can explore the Capital of Culture by bike. Bikes can be hired by telephone 24 hours before collection. The pick-up station is located near the main railway station at Georgstr. 7c in 09111 Chemnitz.

Alternative city map

The ChemNetz is a map of self-made urban culture. It includes places of culture and participation, community gardens and places for swapping and sharing. The map is available in German and English wherever information is available.
