The exhibition of the photo competition "Making living diversity visible" has begun

To mark German Diversity Day, Chemnitz University of Technology, the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 and the city of Chemnitz collaborated to organise the photo competition "Making diversity visible". The exhibition "Making Living Diversity Visible" has also been on display in the university library since 27 May 2025.

The works on display were created as part of Chemnitz University of Technology's photo competition of the same name. The artists present their individual, creative perspectives on the topic of diversity. The focus was on key dimensions such as social, cultural, gender, sexual, religious and age-related diversity. A total of 14 selected images from the 44 entries are on display in the exhibition.

The winners were also honoured at the opening. First place went to Anna-Lena Richter (Meißen) for her work "Special people". Second place went to Natalie Bleyl (Chemnitz) with the photo "Arrived". Wolfgang Thieme (Niederwiesa/Braunsdorf) took third place with his picture "Waiting for spring in Chemnitz". Special prizes were also awarded to Claudia Dohle (Augustusburg) for her photo "Verwandlung" (Transformation) and Liliana Seidel (Lichtenberg) for her work "Respekt" (Respect).

The 14 selected photos can be viewed free of charge in the Chemnitz University Library until 30 June.
