In collaboration with students from the art course at the Evangelische Schulgemeinschaft Erzgebirge and the artist Thomas Suchomel, the Manufaktur der Träume is showing the exhibition "Young Art at the PURPLE PATH" until 3 August 2025. The adventure museum in Annaberg-Buchholz is home to the world's largest private collection of Erzgebirge folk art. The young people spent almost two years intensively analysing individual figures and objects from the Pohl-Ströher collection, which documents the diversity of Erzgebirge toy art. The historical exhibits tell of craftsmanship and tradition, of life in earlier generations and at the same time open up spaces for imagination and regional stories.

In the process, artistic works have been created that visualise their own approaches to the collection. The result is a multifaceted exhibition with drawings, paintings, sculptures, book art, digital collages, video works and a dance performance. On display are works by Jael Gröschel, Felicitas Glöckner, Nele Beck, Annika Lötsch, Frida Weber, Mariella Hertel, Mathilde Lindner, Lilly Jo Engelhardt and Simon Hesse.

The title "Young Art at the PURPLE PATH" stands for the connection between local remembrance culture and a contemporary perspective. The project enables young people to engage creatively with regional heritage. It shows how the past becomes the present and how personal reflection gives rise to artistic expression.
