From 25 to 28 September 2025, Managing Director Piia Rantala-Korhonen and representatives of the board of Oulu 2026, next year's Finnish Capital of Culture, and Mikko Fritze, Director of the Finnish Institute Berlin, visited Chemnitz. The guests got to know the city and its history on a guided tour. The tour took them to the art collections on Theatre Square to see the permanent exhibition on Karl Schmidt-Rottluff and the current Edvard Munch exhibition. An entire morning was dedicated to visiting the region: the maker hubs #macherei in Lößnitz and the Buntspeicher in Zwönitz introduced themselves and their offerings and artworks from the PURPLE PATH in both locations were viewed, including the installation "Universe in a Pearl" by Rebecca Horn in the Lößnitz Hospital Church. In the afternoon, there was an exchange with the management of Chemnitz 2025 and representatives of the city of Chemnitz in the Hartmannfabrik, where the experiences of Chemnitz 2025 were shared with the future title holder. On the last day, the "Young Cultural Region enter" introduced itself to the delegation at the Kulturbahnhof before finally visiting the 3000 Garage exhibition. The guests also took up the invitation to come and eat at my table at the castle pond. The delegation was also lucky enough to experience Chemnitz in bright colours and extremely lively in the evening as part of the Light our Vision festival.
