Chemnitz celebrated Europe from 6 to 10 May. The entire Europe Week was filled with a varied programme consisting of theatre performances, exhibitions, a music programme and discussion events. Numerous guests from Germany and abroad were on site during Europe Week. These included representatives from the eight twin towns as part of the twin town conference. One highlight of Europe Week was the panel discussion on the topic "Too much, too little, too foreign - what kind of EU do we want?" at the Hartmannfabrik, where Martin Schulz, former President of the European Parliament, Nora Mandru, PhD student at the University of Leipzig, Dr Burkhard Müller, Chemnitz author and member of Chemnitz University of Technology and Anne Lena Mösken, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Freie Presse Chemnitz, took part in the discussion.

From 7 to 9 May 2025, the stage at Neumarkt was filled with music, discussions and good humour. For three days, bands, choirs and dance groups presented the diversity of Europe with "Sounds of Europe". The groups came from countries including Spain, Kosovo, Slovenia, France, Romania, Portugal and Greece. The Open Community Kitchen at U Brambory also had an international flavour, focusing on Czech cuisine. In addition, #3000Garages - The Exhibition was opened at the Europe Festival on the Garage Campus. The exhibition can be visited until 29 November 2025. The musical programme continued on Saturday at Weltecho with the "European Acoustic Festival". International and local musicians created a good, early summer atmosphere. The democratic Chemnitz reads event also took place as part of Europe Week. Readings were held at various locations in the city to commemorate the burning of books in 1933.

The brilliant highlight of Europe Week was DJ Vika's performance in Chemnitz's garage area. After a documentary about the 87-year-old in the bicycle cinema, followed by a panel discussion, the Polish DJ turned the garage complex into an open-air club.
