The Erasmus+ youth exchange "C the Unseen - Reaching and empowering young people in culture through peer-to-peer actions" took place in Chemnitz from 23 to 29 April 2025. 42 young adults from six countries worked together on ideas for cultural participation - with direct practical relevance to the youth festival taking place in October 2025.
Key topics included project development, design thinking and the question of how young people can be better involved in cultural projects. Among other things, a branding prototype was created in workshops. This will now be adopted and further developed by the festival crew. Another concept envisages a digital platform to connect young people with cultural projects - a kind of combination of Tinder and LinkedIn for the cultural scene.
The week also offered space for informal encounters - for example during a city rally through Chemnitz, a game night and intercultural evening formats at Chemnitz Youth Hostel. The final presentations on 28 April were accompanied by a graphic recording and marked the end of an intensive exchange.
The exchange was supported by the European Union as part of the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025.
