Weighing 18 grams, 32.5 millimetres in diameter and made of sterling silver - the collector's coin "Chemnitz - European Capital of Culture 2025" is here! The coin has been available from the Bundesbank since 15 May 2025 to mark the European Capital of Culture year. Available for purchase for 20 euros, the coin is not only legal tender, but also a coveted collector's item. The design of the coin reflects the architectural and historical diversity of the city of Chemnitz. Twelve typical motifs characterise the obverse, including the Opera House, the Red Tower, the City Hall, the Gunzenhauser Museum and the Karl Marx Monument. All circle segments are linked by a star - a commitment to Europe. The ensemble is rounded off with the lettering "2025 - Chemnitz - European Capital of Culture". The collector's coin is available in branches of the Deutsche Bundesbank and online.
