48-Hour Cooking Marathon
A delicious community weekend full of creative cuisine
The Makerhub NETZ-Werk Neukirchen is a kitchen for everyone: the 48-hour cooking marathon took place on the premises of the former car dealership in August 2025. Over three days, the event combined flavour, community and creative culinary art. People chopped, stirred, tasted and talked together. The former car dealership was transformed into a Makerhub as part of Chemnitz 2025. A culinary meeting place for the Ore Mountains and beyond has been created here.
A special highlight of this year's cookery marathon was the 5-course menu a la "Ore Mountain Cusine" by star chef Benjamin Unger. The chef conjured up Ore Mountain cuisine on the menu and gave traditional dishes a new lease of life.
