Vernissage with artists from British Columbia, Canada, whose works are inspired by Karl Friedrich May and contemporary stories from Hohenstein-Ernstthal, Hohndorf, Chomutov, Chemnitz and the Ore Mountains.
The participating artists from Vancouver and the Okanagan and Shuswap regions have - in the style of Karl May - artistically reworked places that they have never visited themselves. The works reflect dreams, memories and ideas of distant landscapes, in the spirit of the guiding principles "You May Dream" and "May It Happen". The exhibition presents diverse artistic perspectives and personal visions of distant places, linked by imagination and narrative.
A visit to Chomutov can be combined with the exhibitionYou May Dream in HOT, which opens on 20 September in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, the birthplace of Karl May. Art thus becomes an opportunity to create relationships with places and people across continents.
