The Chemnitz Opera's writing workshop is not only based in Chemnitz, but also in the twin city of Łódź. What the writers in Germany and Poland have in common is that they draw from the autobiographical. The 34 participants process lived history, personal experiences and their respective views of our times. In this way, personalities and generations become tangible through literature. The results of the workshops, which took place over the course of a year, are now being presented to the public in book form. The premiere of the publication in Polish and German will take place simultaneously in Chemnitz and Łódź. Both groups are connected via a conference call. They have been in dialogue with each other for months about writing and life in each participant's home town. Since March 2025, they have been presenting their work on a reading tour through Poland and Germany. The writing workshop is part of the Chemnitz Opera's Capital of Culture project "Rummelplatz".
