For one week, artists worked together with researchers from Chemnitz University of Technology in the field of tension between art and technology. Based on the high-tech laboratories, materials and research focuses of the three research centres TU MAIN, TU MERGE and TU MeTech, experimental prototypes and artistic works were created that make the interplay between science and artistic practice tangible.
The exhibition shows the results of interdisciplinary workshops focussing on questions of materiality, perception and interaction: How can nanotechnology be experienced visually and haptically? What relationships are created between man and machine through movement, language and sensory interfaces? And what aesthetic, narrative or speculative possibilities are offered by new bio-based materials such as GEOBRIS, which is made from mealworm faeces?
The works presented open up a variety of perspectives on current technological developments and invite us to rethink future scenarios between art, science and society.
