As part of the "EXI(S)T - Literature Residency", US author Kathryn Scanlan spent two months working in Chemnitz, the European Capital of Culture 2025, in autumn 2025.
At the end of her stay, Chemnitz 2025 invites you to a special reading with Kathryn Scanlan and her publisher and translator Jan Karsten. The focus will be on her book, her experiences in Chemnitz and Berlin and the question of how Chemnitz - and a Capital of Culture region - can be re-read through a transatlantic lens.
