Chef's Kiss - Making Zines from Scratch
Event information
Date & Time
Location
entrance free, with registration
In this workshop, memories, flavours and stories about cooking are exchanged. The focus is on food as a unifying language - a way to show affection and care, independent of verbal language.
Between recipes, cooking techniques and personal anecdotes, zines are created to pass on and share knowledge and experiences.
How these contributions are realised - whether through writing, drawing, collage or other creative forms - is up to the participants. Participants are welcome to bring their own photos and other materials, and various materials will be made available on site for free experimentation.
In keeping with the theme, you are welcome to bring along your favourite snack(s)!
This workshop is exclusively for BIPoC* and aims to create an empowering space in which creative energy can be drawn upon and topics that move us can be explored.
Please register by email with your name, pronouns, whether you prefer English or German, and any other requests to chefskiss.zine@gmail.com

Ngọc Anh Phan (no pronouns/they/them) is a graphic designer based in Berlin. Ngọc Anh's work deals with themes of diasporic experience, queerness, and the archiving of memories — through storytelling, typography, and photography. Ngọc Anh worked as a graphic designer for the feature film ‘Lonig & Havendel’. Ngọc Anh's practice is strongly influenced by their experience as a second-generation Việt-German, born to former Vietnamese contract workers in the GDR. Ngọc Anh is also a member of the Saigon Kiss collective.
Michi Frye (they/them) is a Filipino-German illustrator from Hamburg. Currently, they primarily use their art as an activist tool for social justice.
