The intergenerational micro-project"Engel- und Bergmann-Wege", which links almost a dozen Purple Path artworks, invites visitors to go on discovery tours along the Purple Path.

The symbolic opening of the hiking trail network will be marked by the cutting of a purple ribbon as a sign of cooperation with the Purple Path flagship project of the Capital of Culture 2025.

Hiking will also be organised by the Sächs. Hiking and Mountain Sports Association. It is a guided hike on curated connecting routes in the Chemnitz-Zwickau area, especially in the former Oelsnitz coalfield, including stops at the Lugau church (with a rest/donation bistro) and music at the Marian column of the Oelsnitz graduation house, then to Gersdorf to the Purple Path artwork "Heimatensemble II" by Jan Kummer, etc. ...

You can join this hiking group wherever you feel like it. Other routes mentioned on the following website include the Saxon Way of St James, the KarlsRoute, the Road of the German Language and the Luther Trail.
