They could tell so many stories. The silent contemporary witnesses made of bronze and concrete that walkers encounter everywhere in Chemnitz have seen and helped write the city's history, heard many a secret, persistently defied many a change, sometimes disappeared, sometimes wandered and yet are still there. They seem to keep their stories to themselves. But you just have to get them to talk. Or find ways to listen to them.

The Institut für Ostmoderne therefore invites you to an interactive artistic walk through Chemnitz city centre. With a performance, audio contributions, a workshop for modelling your own sculptures and a playful, exploratory sculpture rally with a quiz, you will get to know some of the sculptures that were created between 1960 and 1989 and installed in the city. The joint search for clues is intended to uncover the stories behind the figures, encourage a new reading of the artworks and imagine a transformation of the sculptures in the present and future. And, of course, to be fun!

The walk starts at 4 pm at Straße der Nationen 46, leads through the city and ends in the evening with music and drinks.
